Miami-Dade police have officially taken over the investigation into the death of El Taiger.

It appears the person of interest in the death of the beloved reggaeton artist, who was arrested in New York, has officially been brought back to Miami.

El Taiger, 37, whose real name is Jose Manuel Zaldivar, was found shot in the back of a pickup truck near Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami on Oct. 3.

For weeks, police searched for Damian Valdez Galloso, who was named a person of interest in the case.

He was found by police in New York City and taken into custody. He has been officially named the prime suspect in the murder.

Local 10 was there when Galloso arrived at Miami International Airport on Wednesday.

There, we found police escorting an unmarked car off the tarmac after a flight arrived in New York City. Miami-Dade Police confirm detectives served a search warrant this morning in Hialeah.
