Inter Miami fell 3-0 to Seattle Sounders in the Leagues Cup final and missed out on another title. Goals from Osaze de Rosario, Alex Roldán, and Paul Rothrock gave the Washington team a commanding victory at Lumen Field.
The scoring opened with a header from Osaze de Rosario in the 26th minute after a cross from Roldán. In the second half, Alex Roldán extended the lead from the penalty spot in the 84th minute, and in stoppage time, Paul Rothrock sealed the win in the 89th minute.
Inter Miami was unable to turn the game around, and both Messi and Luis Suárez had clear chances in the second half but couldn’t convert. However, the clearest chance fell to Allende, with the score still 1-0 in favor of the home team.
This was Seattle’s first Leagues Cup title, adding to its winning history that includes the MLS Cup and Supporters’ Shield.
