Inter Miami defeated Seattle Sounders 3-1 at Chase Stadium in one of the remaining MLS matches following their participation in the Club World Cup.
Messi assisted Jordi Alba’s goal that opened the scoring at Chase Stadium, and then converted to extend the lead. Early in the second half, Rodrigo De Paul provided a pass for a corner kick that led to Ian Fray’s third goal for the Florida team.
With Luis Suárez out due to suspension, Javier Mascherano started several Argentines: Oscar Ustari, Gonzalo Luján, and Tadeo Allende, in addition to De Paul and Messi. Also entering the second half were debutants Mateo Silvetti (formerly of Newell’s) and Marcelo Weigandt.
