Spanish tennis player and ATP No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz is enjoying a few days of rest in Miami after closing out the best year of his career, crowned world number one. The Murcia native, who missed the Davis Cup due to a hamstring strain, is taking advantage of his break to disconnect, reconnect with friends, attend sporting events… and debut a new look.
During his stay in Miami, Alcaraz met up with former Argentine tennis player Juan Martín del Potro, who shared the meeting on his social media: “Always nice to see you again, my friend,” Del Potro wrote in a post along with several photos of the Murcia native.
In the images, it’s clear that Juan Carlos Ferrero’s protégé has returned to his natural hair color, leaving behind the striking platinum blonde he sported at the end of the season.
The Spaniard also attended the Miami Heat vs. The Milwaukee Bucks of the NBA, a game that ended with a 106-103 home victory. During the game, the team mascot presented him with an official Heat uniform, which Alcaraz wore for the cameras.
The number 1 player has also dedicated time to leisure activities such as fishing, as shown in a video shared on social media. Between rest and leisure, Carlitos continues to recover from the hamstring edema he’s been dealing with.
Although his official season has already ended, Alcaraz will return to the court in December to play two exhibition games: on December 7th in New Jersey against Frances Tiafoe and on December 8th in Miami against Joao Fonseca.
After these games, the player from Murcia will definitively close out his 2025 season, with no more official matches until the start of the new season.
The big challenge that will kick off his next campaign will be the Australian Open, the only Grand Slam that is not yet in the Spaniard’s record.
