Inter Miami defeated Vancouver Whitecaps in the final to win their first MLS title

Inter Miami, led by Argentine star Lionel Messi, defeated Vancouver Whitecaps 3-1 to become champions of Major League Soccer in the United States.

In the match played at Chase Stadium, Colombian defender Edier Ocampo opened the scoring for Inter Miami with an own goal in the 9th minute. In the second half, midfielder Ali Ahmed equalized in the 15th minute, but Argentine Rodrigo De Paul put the home side back in front in the 29th minute.

Finally, Argentine Tadeo Allende sealed the victory with a goal in the 49th minute of the second half.

With this result, Inter Miami became champions of Major League Soccer for the first time in their short history. Their previous titles were the Supporters’ Shield in 2014 and the Leagues Cup in 2023.

For Argentine star Lionel Messi, this marks his 48th title in his illustrious career. At league level, this is the thirteenth title he has won in his record.
