The Cuban Anti-Communist Foundation launched the global caravan CUBA NEXT, a massive caravan organized by Cuban-American activist and television host Alexander Otaola. The caravan brings together Cubans and allies in support of U.S. pressure tactics against the authoritarian regimes of Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua.
The initiative demands that Cuba transition to democracy and full freedom, positioning itself as the next step in the region toward political change.
Cubans Around the World joined this global caravan in support of international pressure against the dictatorships. In Miami, the main caravan began this Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., from Tropical Park (7900 SW 40th Street) and proceeded toward the National Shrine of Our Lady of Charity, La Ermita de la Caridad (3609 S Miami Ave).
Participants travel the route in vehicles adorned with flags, signs, and visually striking slogans, both to show support for Cubans on the island and to generate significant media coverage.
“We are thousands of cars, I’m not exaggerating. I think this is the largest caravan in recent times,” said Alex Otaola, president of the Anti-Communist Foundation, expressing his joy at this large gathering of Cubans.
“We want real freedom, total freedom, which translates into a real, total change of system. We don’t want to talk to the communists; we don’t want the communists to get away with this. We want the Trump administration to have the support of the Cuban exile community,” he asserted.
In cities such as Alicante, Barcelona, Brasilia, Stockholm, Georgia, Madrid, Montreal, Toronto, Paris, Uruguay, and Las Vegas, among others, parallel caravans are being organized, reinforcing a unified message for regional stability, prosperity in the Americas, and the definitive end of authoritarian regimes.
The day is a public demonstration that reiterates the need for free, pluralistic, and competitive elections, along with the restoration of the rule of law in Cuba and the region.
The Cuban Anticommunist Foundation, a civic organization dedicated to combating communism and promoting human rights, public education, and peaceful action, coordinated this historic event.
