Friendly: Messi in Panama, in Inter’s win over San Miguelito

Argentine star Lionel Messi was back in the starting line-up for Inter Miami’s third pre-season match, in a match that sparked a furor for his presence in Panama, against Sporting San Miguelito.

After two wins on penalties against América of Mexico, with whistles for the Argentine captain included, and against Universitario of Peru, La Pulga returned to play from the start for Javier Mascherano’s team, in the middle of the preparation stage for the MLS in the United States.

The 3-1 victory for Messi’s team, the first of the year in the 90 minutes, included Argentine participation: the 1-0 was scored by Benjamín Cremaschi (45+1′), who had the assist of Marcelo Weigandt, and the 2-1 by Tadeo Allende (48′). The third was celebrated by Fafa Picault (64′), from Haiti.

Messi’s next appearance with Inter Miami will be on Saturday, February 8, in the continuation of the preseason in Central America and in a new country: against Olimpia de Honduras as a visitor.
