Jeff Bezos Moved to Miami After Selling His Seattle Mansion for $63 Million

Jeff Bezos’s property in Miami, Florida, became the primary residence of the entrepreneur and his wife Lauren Sanchez after the sale of their Seattle mansion, which set a record for a Washington real estate transaction after reaching $63 million last April.

Bezos acquired the property for $37.5 million in 2019 and sold it in April 2025 for just under double the value. With the closing of the purchase, the billionaire said goodbye to an 875-square-meter mansion overlooking Lake Washington.

The Amazon founder established the company’s headquarters in downtown Seattle in 1994, and the home was located just 11 kilometers from the company. Located in the Hunts Point neighborhood of King County, the sale of the mansion to Cayan Investments LLC reached a state record last April, according to the Puget Sound Business Journal.

The property featured three master bedrooms, four bathrooms, a catering kitchen, an elevator, walk-in closets, and a rooftop terrace with a fireplace. It also features a two-story guesthouse and a sprawling garden.

At the end of 2023, the billionaire announced his intention to move to Florida and leave Washington after nearly two decades, where he founded his company. In an Instagram post, Bezos detailed his reasons for choosing Miami.

“My parents have always been my biggest supporters. They recently moved back to Miami, where we lived when I was younger,” he noted. He indicated that his intention was to be closer to his family, in addition to feeling a sense of devotion to the Florida city.

Regarding his business dealings, he noted that Blue Origin’s operations “are increasingly shifting” to Cape Canaveral. He concluded: “Seattle, you will always have a piece of my heart.”

The billionaire owns three luxury properties on Indian Creek Island in Miami-Dade County. The first two were acquired in mid-2023, for $68 million and $79 million, respectively.

Along with Bezos’ latest purchase in the Florida destination, for $90 million in 2024, his total assets on Indian Creek Island rose to $237 million, according to Fortune. Thus, along with the purchase of his former residence in Seattle, the tycoon consolidated his move to the Sunshine State.

The most recent mansion acquired by the Amazon founder in Miami-Dade County has six bedrooms and nine bathrooms, spread over more than 12,000 square feet. It also includes an office, a gym, and a pool in the garden.

Meanwhile, the businessman maintained a striking feature of his Washington residence: the oceanfront view from his home.
