MLS: Messi made a devastating return and made Inter Miami celebrate

Two goals and an assist rounded off the formidable return of Lionel Messi at Inter, who last night in Miami beat Philadelphia 3-1 and established themselves as the sole leader of the Eastern Conference in the MLS.

In this match played at the Chase stadium in Fort Lauderdale, for the thirty-first matchday, the visiting team took the lead at 2 minutes of the first half, with a goal by the Dane Mikhael Uhre, but Messi scored at 26 and 40 of the same period to turn the score around.

In addition, and towards the end of the match, the Rosario native assisted Luis Suárez, who scored the final 3-1.

This match marked the return of the world champion, who was out of action for two months after the injury he had suffered in his right ankle in the Copa América final, against Colombia.

In addition, and thanks to this victory, Inter Miami remained at the top of the MLS Eastern Conference, with a seven-point advantage over Cincinnati.

Messi’s performance was decisive, as Inter started off losing but scored a double in just four minutes, which helped his team turn the score around: first with a right-footed finish, then with his left.

In the epilogue he once again shined with a great assist for the Uruguayan Suárez, who sealed the victory with a shot from the half-moon of the area.

The Argentines Marcelo Weigandt, Tomás Avilés, Héctor Martínez (who left injured) and Federico Redondo also played in the team led by Gerardo Martino.
