Skyscrapers: This is what Trump’s new presidential library in Miami would look like

President Donald Trump shared the first rendering of his future presidential library in Miami, highlighting a projected giant golden statue of himself and a replica of Air Force One.

The video, released by him on his Truth Social network and by his son Eric Trump, shows a skyscraper in downtown Miami with the Trump logo, similar to those on other towers owned by the president, as well as a golden entrance and escalators of the same color, reminiscent of those used at the start of his first campaign in 2015.

In some images of the project, designed by the Florida-based architecture firm Bermello Ajamil, a giant golden statue of the Republican leader appears at the building’s entrance, while in others the monument is shown on the stage of an auditorium.

Although Trump offered no further details, it was revealed in February that an Ohio sculptor is creating a golden statue of the president, nearly 15 feet tall and weighing over 3 tons, commissioned by a group of cryptocurrency investors and dubbed ‘Don Colossus’.

The model shared by the president also shows his image on a screen outside the building with the slogan “Make America proud again,” as well as a palm-fringed terrace where people are drinking cocktails.

“This waterfront landmark in Miami, Florida, will be a lasting testament to an amazing man, an impressive promoter, and the greatest president our nation has ever known. These images have never been seen by the public until today,” posted Eric Trump, who is overseeing the project.

The rendering was shared following the controversy surrounding the project in Miami, as local activists criticized the fact that the library will be built on state land ceded by Miami-Dade College (MDC) to the Trump Presidential Library Foundation.

They also deemed it incongruous that the building is located next to the Freedom Tower, where Cuban immigrants fleeing Fidel Castro’s government sought refuge in the 1960s and 70s.

This would be the first presidential library in Florida, home to Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club. Trump moved his residence from New York to Florida in 2019, during his first term (2017-2021), so supporters of the project highlight its potential tourist appeal and economic benefits for Miami.
