The Coast Guard rescued 32 influencers who sank a yacht off Miami Beach

A high-end vessel, valued at approximately $4 million, began sinking off the coast of Miami Beach while carrying more than 30 people, including models and influencers who had boarded the yacht to enjoy the weekend in one of the most exclusive areas of the Florida coast.

The accident occurred last Saturday around 5:00 PM, when the vessel, identified as a Lamborghini 63, reported an emergency to the Coast Guard. Within minutes, the vessel began listing until part of its hull was submerged. Authorities immediately intervened and coordinated a rescue operation to evacuate the 32 occupants on board. Initial reports indicate that the vessel was operating with a load far exceeding its permitted capacity, which could have compromised its stability.

The scene did not go unnoticed in an area frequented by luxury yachts and private vessels. Several witnesses recounted the confusion at the time. “We were cruising and suddenly we saw a yacht in an almost vertical position. There were patrol cars all around,” said Rachael Miller, one of the people who witnessed the operation. Another witness, Bruce Maresh, commented that from a distance it looked like an anomaly on the horizon. “As we got closer, it became clear it was a large vessel in serious trouble,” he noted.

The yacht’s occupants, many of whom were livestreaming or recording content for social media, documented the tense minutes. In videos shared on platforms like Instagram and TikTok, some were seen trying to secure valuables, such as laptops or handbags, while others joked with phrases like “Women and children first!”, lending a surreal tone to the chaos on board.

The luxury yacht involved belongs to the Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 series, an exclusive edition developed in collaboration between the Italian automaker Lamborghini and the shipyard The Italian Sea Group. Featuring an avant-garde design and a carbon fiber structure, the 19-meter-long vessel can reach speeds of up to 117 kilometers per hour thanks to its two powerful MAN V-12 engines, each with 2,000 horsepower. Its maximum capacity, according to official specifications, is designed to comfortably accommodate five passengers, plus a small crew.

Despite the shocking images of the semi-sunken yacht, no injuries were reported. All passengers were safely transferred to the Miami Beach Marina, where they received care and a corresponding search was initiated. The ownership of the yacht has not yet been confirmed, and it is unknown whether it was rented or used for commercial purposes.

The Coast Guard reported that a private salvage team was deployed to recover the vessel and assured that, despite the accident, the yacht does not pose a risk to navigation in the area. However, the investigation into the cause of the incident continues. Among the strongest hypotheses is the possibility of negligence in exceeding the permitted occupant limit, a crucial fact if it is confirmed that the number of occupants was four times the official capacity of the model.
