Inter Miami announced this Friday, September 12, that it has begun selling official team license plates. Fans can use them on their vehicles to support the club, joining other sports entities bearing its name throughout the United States.
“The Inter Miami CF specialty license plates are now available! After reaching our goal of 3,000 pre-sale coupons, production has ended, and you can now obtain your license plate at any tax collector’s office or license plate agency in Florida,” the club said in a statement.
On a black background, the plates feature the two intertwined herons featured in the team logo and the words “Florida” and “Inter Miami CF” in pink font. The license plate letters and numbers are white.
The license plates will only be available for sale in the state of Florida, home of Inter Miami, but will be valid throughout the United States, where it is common to see vehicles with specialty license plates from sports clubs or other organizations.
Orlando City, Inter Miami’s regional rival, already has one for sale, as do the rest of Florida’s NBA, NFL, NHL, and MLB teams.
The Miami Heat, for example, currently have more than 83,000 license plates in circulation.
Inter Miami added that a portion of the proceeds from license plate sales will go to the Inter Miami CF Foundation, which provides educational and empowerment opportunities for children and youth in underserved communities.
The price of these separate plates is $15 per year, in addition to the $28 required for a standard license plate.
