Controversial influencer Andrew Tate and his brother arrested in Miami

Controversial influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan have been arrested in the United States after British authorities filed 38 new charges against them.

The UK Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) reported that Andrew was being charged with seven additional counts of rape, as well as charges related to sex trafficking and possession of indecent images of a minor.

The charges against Tristan include two counts of rape and three counts of organizing or facilitating sex trafficking.

Police in Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire have reported that the total number of charges against the brothers now stands at 59.

The alleged crimes took place between July 2010 and August 2017. The Tates have previously denied any wrongdoing.

According to Reuters, the US media outlet TMZ published a video in Miami on Saturday showing law enforcement officers handcuffing the self-proclaimed misogynist and his younger brother and escorting them to waiting vehicles.

Following their arrest, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) will begin legal proceedings to extradite the brothers, who hold dual British and American citizenship, to the United Kingdom.

“These indictments followed the receipt of additional evidence by Bedfordshire County Police and bring the total number of alleged victims in this case to seven,” said Malcolm McHaffie, head of the Special Crimes Division at the CPS.
