Giannis Antetokounmpo toured the halls of his new home at the Kaseya Center and gazed at the portraits of the many Miami Heat legends, from LeBron James and Dwyane Wade to Shaquille O’Neal and Alonzo Mourning. That championship history only fueled Antetokounmpo’s desire to win his second title.
Antetokounmpo was introduced by the Heat on Thursday. As he sat beneath the franchise’s three championship banners hanging high above the arena, Miami’s newest superstar made it clear how motivated he is to arrive in South Beach.
“It’s like a million percent right now,” Antetokounmpo told ESPN. “You walk through the halls, you see the history, and you look at the players who have been part of this organization and everything they’ve accomplished. I want to make all the moves they made worthwhile.

“It’s a place that, in my opinion, carries pressure, and I thrive under pressure. It brings out the best in me. I’m excited to be playing under [Erik Spoelstra]. I’m excited to be in this city. I understand that the fans are very passionate, but right now, I’m hungry to win.” “I want to win, and I’ll do whatever it takes to achieve it.”
