Lionel Messi’s arrival at Inter Miami almost three years ago transformed the club’s games into must-see events for major stars of film, music, and sports. Figures like Kim Kardashian, Leonardo DiCaprio, Selena Gomez, Edward Norton, Marc Anthony, and LeBron James have all attended matches of the Argentine champions. Now, a famous superhero movie star has joined this long list of celebrities: Tom Holland, famous for playing Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
On May 24th, among the hundreds of fans who flocked to Nu Stadium in Miami, Florida, was Holland. The 29-year-old British actor surprised many by attending the match between Inter Miami and Philadelphia Union as part of the Major League Soccer regular season.
Many would surely have liked to see him at the stadium with Zendaya, but Tom attended without the actress, with whom he was rumored to have married a few months ago. Despite his partner’s absence, the actor appeared very happy and smiling throughout the game, wearing a pink jersey of the home team personalized with his last name. Holland completed his casual look with light blue jeans and white sneakers.
Tom was very attentive to what was happening on the field and, as a star guest, was able to watch the game from the sidelines, just a short distance from the players. As expected, the actor’s presence did not go unnoticed by the crowd, and he didn’t hesitate to wave and even interact with some children in the stands near his VIP section.
“Pink looks good on you, @tomholland2013,” wrote the official Inter Miami Instagram account, sharing some photos of Tom’s visit to Nu Stadium. Among the “likes” on the post was one from David Beckham, co-owner of the team, who also shared the post on his stories, reaffirming that Holland “looks good” in pink.
It’s no secret that Tom is a football fan; in fact, years ago he revealed himself to be a supporter of FC Barcelona, the team where Messi played for years. “My home away from home. Força Barça,” the actor expressed in 2022, also referencing his 2019 film Spider-Man: Far From Home. At that time, he was promoting his film Uncharted in the famous Spanish city. However, the British actor has also confessed to being a fan of the English club Tottenham.
Inter Miami CF defeated the Philadelphia Union 6-4 in a historic match played at Nu Stadium, which began with Luis Fonsi performing the US national anthem. The match broke a record by registering eight goals in the first half (4-4), becoming the highest-scoring first half in Major League Soccer history.
